Flyers buy out MacDonald after the 2017-18 season and save even more money. For now they are over $9 mil,. under the cap and dramatically upgraded the wings.

Winnipeg has the deepest prospect pool and does not mind getting one of the top players in the game as well as a top end defensive prospect and vet forward to make a very important playoff push for their franchise at the 2016-17 trade deadline.

Tampa cant find the $ to match the Flyers offer for Drouin.

Trading G sets the Flyers back 3 years at least.

Avs are hurting just as much on the wing as D, and currently the D pipeline is looking better. They have no need to trade one of the only good W prospects they have.

Wonder if Giroux's NMC affects the trade. Giroux is from Hearst Ontario so Winnipeg weather will feel actually balmy to him.

Claude is one of the most over-rated players in the NHL.

As the youth of Konecny the acquired wings and the defense blossom together the team would be better off in 2018-19 then with Claude.

Of course that is all my opinion and likely not in the majority.

LMFAO @ G is one of the most over rated players. Do you even watch the Flyers? Maybe you should check his stats over the past 5 years. over rated hahahaha. And this answers the question as to "why is there so much hate on this site?"

Morrison is at minimum 5 years away from being on the NHL club. Friedman is half that at maximum. and may just become the best offensive & #2 overall defenseman in the Aves system with this trade.

Although the forward concerns you mention are true.

He is considered across the NHL as a top 10 player. He is far far from that. He is a very good player but yes he is over-rated.

Please tell me who is going to distribute the puck if G is gone? He makes everyone around him better. You have never played a high level of hockey before have you?

You see who I have as the #1 center for 2017-18.

He is already showing as a rook with limited ice time and limited talent around him he is a playmaker.

Travis had a lull a few weeks back and Hakstol set him straight. He is having a terrific season to date.

Plus there is that $9 mil. windfall from trading his over--rated ash that will allow for free agent signings.

      Have a wonderful night!

Thanks for the reminder and now I wont need to look it up.

Morrison is at most 3 years away. He will be one of those that jumps in after his senior season is done...if he is not signed before that. And the Avs already have a small offensive D in Barrie that will be very hard to surpass for Friedman. And we have a few D prospects that would be ahead of him regardless...Bigras and Meloche for sure, possibly Mironov and Lindholm. Maybe even Seimens as far as ready to jump in (but I think he may be past his sell by).

It is a fair trade, but not one I think would be wise for the Avs.

Fair enough. Morrison cant sign with Colorado until after his Jr. year and he has just begun his Frosh season. Maybe he needs time in the AHL maybe he can go straight to the Aves. Time will tell. I really like this kid though and he has a very bright future for himself and the Aves.

      Short answer: Voracek.
Long answer: Since the start of the 14-15 season, Jake has 129 assists to Claude's 117. Over that same timeframe Jake has 77 primary assists to 61 for Claude.
