Bryson is not expendable, he’s cost effective and deserves a chance to play every game next year. The team probably just needs to keep getting younger, not older. I would sooner try to keep McCabe instead of trying to trade for his replacement.
Tokarski has played well this year, but he is far from a solution even as a back up. I don’t think anyone would be comfortable with the idea of him playing 25 to 30 games next year and thinking the Sabres would actually win even half of them. He’ll be back in Rochester splitting time with Lukkonen like he should’ve been this year. Whether the Sabres trade for a back up or 1B goaltender to split time with Ullmark if he should stay, or find one in free agency that’s what I expect them to do.
