Henrique is a cap dump but could be useful in columbus who's in need of centers , Heinen maybe needs a fresh start?

I'd say Anaheim would normally never trade a high pick but it's rare to get a chance at an established 30-40 goal player who hasn't even hit his prime yet AND get cap relief like this.

Jackets basically get a reset on a top 5 draft pick.

Hard to imagine Anaheim would be willing to get rid of a top 5 pick for a player who has pushed his way out of one organization and might do that again even for as talented as Laine is

They traded for another Finnish, former jets player years ago... worked out pretty good for them then

Laine would have to sign an RFA deal at a rate ANA agrees with before this could happen. I also think after his deal expires, Domi will be signing 1 year / $1 mil deals for the rest of his career.

Unless Laine agrees to a deal and the pick isn’t top 3

I forgot to add the extension, yes that would have to be part of the trade.
But the pick would have to be unprotected, that'd be the only reasoning behind the jackets taking so much dead weight cap for years AND trading away who would be a scoring machine for them under a new coach.
