Give me one good reason why Toronto, a team competing for a cup, would not only give up a better player, but also retain FOR TWO YEARS on said player for a package as measly as that.

Because they get about 2.5 Million in salary cap room.

That is not even close to fair value for Kerfoot especially with retention.

Also if Freddy wants 3 mill Leafs resign him.
