Calgary doesn’t take it, and I couldn’t see Buffalo wanting it either, Calgary gets a guy they don’t need and will probably walk as a UFA at the end of next year, and Buffalo gets a guy who might do good for the season then do the same and walk as a UFA. Trade makes no sense for either team.

Routsalainen is not really a center, certainly not 4th line. He’d likely be better served playing top minutes in Rochester instead of limited minutes in non-offensive situations.
