The Rangers will need to part with Lafrenière, Kakko, and/or Fox to acquire Eichel.

I like how the eichel trades are starting to look a bit more reasonable.

Why would rangers consider doing that. Maybe the only reason they look at eichel is to play with those guys not going to give up the team plan to surround him with. If that doesn’t please Buffalo then they can shop around and realize every other reasonable destination is going to have to send multiple questionable contracts back just to do a deal

The Sabres are not accepting players who underachieve or will not contribute. They are in "win now" mode. If it pleases you, Eichel stays in Buffalo, and the Rangers acquire Ristolainen or Miller for Lafrenière, Kakko, and/or Fox.

Why do people still think Eichel has more value than Fox?

Buffalo cannot rebuild again. They need NHL players next year.

Chytill is not very good. He just isn't. Averaging 30pts / 82 over almost 200 NHL games.

This is the biggest problem Buffalo will have. They can't deal Eichel for a rebuild, or they are setting themselves back 10 more years. Dahlin and Reinhart will be next and suddenly a long time for Cozens is two more years from now.

Why do Rangers people still think Fox is overvalued?

Chytil is better than you think. Could step into a 2C role in BUF. .5ppg player this year and got no PP time

The Sabres are past "rebuild". They are at "win now to win later". The Sabres have the coach and most players in place. In the offseason, the coach becomes permanent, and the roster is improved with available talent.

Yeah, that is sort of my point though. He is a 2C. If Buffalo trades Eichel, they need a 1C coming back. Chytill is still young and could develop, but if he does it will in another couple years and just in time to want out. Gautheir is Just another guy.

Assuming the divisions (or even if you don't) the Rangers will continue to get better so that pick is at best 15th, but probably somewhere in the early to mid 20's. And who knows, if any of the young guys take a huge step then the sky is the limit.

Jones is intriguing, but not enough. Sabres should end up with the kid from Michigan and already have Dahlin. Jones is probably the 4th most interesting dman on the Rangers too.

Other than Eichel to say you have most of the players in place is scary.

Middlestat and Oloffson are maybe's - Don't like either of their seasons. Contract year and disappear act.

McCabe is good, but can't stay healthy.
