O'Reilly can't be the standard for players getting out of Buffalo, that's unrealistic lol. Reinhart is no O'Reilly, but he's damn good and shouldn't be scoffed at just because he plays in Buffalo and he's not as good, not a lot of players in the league as good as O'Reilly.

Well then he serves no value to us if he can’t be a key playoff contributor. He more than likely will be overpaid on his next contract and we’ve already got Kreider and Trouba on awful deals. No reason to add another on a guy who’s never had more than 65 points in a season.

Again, O'Reilly can't be the standard for playoff performer, that's unrealistic. He hasn't played in the playoffs as he's been with Buffalo his whole career. Assuming his contract will stink is a weird presumption. Anyways I'm done with this silly argument of what if scenarios. If the Rags were to trade for Reinhart and sign him to somewhere around 5.5 to 6 mil, I'd be happy if I were a Rags fan, good all around player.

Is it too much to ask to look at literally anything other than points? Like anything else... at all

He has good defensive metrics. But if you actually produced like a normal lottery pick the Rangers may still be playing and getting ready for the playoffs.

Elite defensively*, and hes improving every day, thats all you can ask of a lottery pick, also Kakko scoring a few more points was not the difference, and making the playoffs was never the goal for this season, it was development of our young guys (which happened)

Well we shall agree to disagree. You value Reinhart more than I do and that’s okay. Have a goodnight bud.
