Description

In my last post, I narrowed down the places Eichel could get traded to. Now, I'm trying to find the main pieces going to Buffalo in an Eichel trade and see if the Sabres would be interested.

It seems like Arizona is interested in Eichel, but I don't think it's a good fit with the lack of assets they have. Im guessing an Eichel trade starts with Keller

I don't think Tkachuk will be available in an Eichel trade. Instead, I think the Flames go for a quantity approach by including prospects like Zary, Pelletier, along with picks

It looks like the Blue Jackets want to build around Laine so he won't be in the trade. Instead, Im expecting the Blue Jackets to go pick heavy, offering 3-4 first round picks and Texier

I mean we could for sure give you all picks and prospects you want, but it doesn’t make sense for us. This should be the same for the rest of the teams. BUT there may be 1 or 2 exceptions. Would you trade Reinhart, Dahlin, Cozens, 1st, 2nd for JE??

Often a package like that is what Sabres fans are asking for or expecting which is why I ask.

We don’t give a damn. Laf isn’t getting offered. Buffalo can trade him elsewhere, it doesn’t matter to us.

You act like Sabres fans give a damn. Plenty of teams will be interested. Just know that Sabres fans demand Laf because he’s the best you have and he’s still not on Jack’s level. If I’m a Rangers fan, I easily give up Laf in a deal. You have a pretty good roster and Jack Eichel is the piece that takes you to the next level. In my opinion, multiple players would need to go both ways, but you need to stop being afraid of trading Laf.

I said Jack takes you to the next level. I didn’t say he’s the missing link to a Stanley cup. However, he’d be the key piece toward getting there.

That’s fine, but that’s misplaced cap concern. Jeff Skinner and Kyle okposo are players that kill your cap. Not Jack Eichel. You pay the elite players because they’re worth it. The good teams are able to pay the top guys and fill the bottom of the lineup with cheap young players with potential.

NEVER convince yourself that players like Jack Eichel are a cap issue. It’s not true.
