Why would McDavid waive his NMC to join the Canucks? This is worse depth than the Oilers have currently.

McDavid is cursed. He literally couldn't even be traded because he's so valuable that the only teams that could trade for him would be dismantling everything that they've built so far to acquire him. Any team that trades for him is going into a rebuild and most pieces that could be traded for him would have a NTC and wouldn't want to go to Edmonton. Like what is an actual realistic trade for him?

Still not enough for McDavid, You could add Hughes as well and Holland probably still says NO.

These 4 centers are better in terms of depth than what the Oilers have currently. Horvat is not Draisaitl but he's still a very good player who can drive play. Gourde and Sutter are better than Haas and Shore, particularly Gourde. Throw in Coleman and the bottom-6 is much better already.
