No way the Flames lose Johnson in FA, and even if they do... He probably won't go to the Oilers

Oilers need a puck moving dman i.e: Shattenkirk or Fowler not a truck, they already have Larsson.

fair point, but Shattenkirk wouldn't sign an extension with the Oilers and Fowler would probably cost more then the oilers would be willing to pay for another LHD

You have to be concerned though about the Oilers' RW's, especially if they trade Eberle

What? Are they trading him at the deadline? With all the Elliot to STL proposals you've been making (which has a 0% likelihood of happening, as reported by multiple credible sources) I would be inclined to say the Flames keep him for the rest of the season. There is a very good chance he hits FA as he will be looking to cash in on his career best performance (assuming he keeps it up and doesn't lose the net to Elliot) so unless the Flames are prepared to make a substantial investment in him he will walk and go to whomever offers him the most dough.

Why on earth would the last place team in the league give up a decent young player on a team friendly bridge deal for an underperforming and more expensive vet that Edmonton fans all want rid of?

He is an experienced vet who could help with the development of all the young guys coming up in Arizona. The reason Edmonton fans dont want him is because he doesnt fit the style of play in edmonton and doesnt really fits in on any of the lines
