Description

Key here is to get Jake and Rust away from Pelech and Pullock. They likely stay on the Crosby line, and you add some size with Carter. I think I'd rather see McCann centering the 3rd line and E-Rod on the Malkin line, but I don't think Freddy comes out at this point in the series. Something has to get McCann going and maybe a move to center does that.

It's tough to take Carter off the draws, but I think him and Crosby could have some better success against the Isles top pairing and line matchups than what we have been seeing with Jake and Rust. Outshooting a team 2-1 either means the goalie is standing on his head or the only open shots you are getting are bad angle, low chance shots, or I guess in this case a mixture of both.

Malkin and Crosby on the same line? That is suicide. Look how well that worked for Edmonton with two starts who are a decade younger. I would flip Rust and Tanev to get Crosby a bit of a break. The Islanders have perfect match up players and they are just pushing the Penguins around. You need a guy on Crosby's line like Tanev who can free up space for him to work.

I would go with:
