The way I see it:
On ZAR-Mikheyev trade:
It is somewhat of a wash. With them both being great defensively, Mikheyev being a smidge better offensively. However, the size of Mikheyev will definitely attract Burkie's interest.
On Letang trade:
A lot of you will say, "If they go for Letang, why not just go for Dougie or Seth Jones?" Well...more power to you. However, let me ask you this? How much do you think it would take to trade for Jones...let alone sign him to his next contract? A LOT.

Does TOR really want to pay $9 million+ to Dougie with all of the other big contracts they have? I know from an owner standpoint I wouldn't like that much money being tied to essentially 5 players who have yet to prove those contracts when they really matter.

You can give up a bottom six forward, a top defense prospect (that is developing slower than expected), and a couple picks for a still Norris level RHD, WITH RETENTION and would likely be able to resign him to a, like, $5 million contract the following season.
All in all, TOR gets its gamechanging RHD without losing everything and PIT gets the cap room to go after Dougie and begin the next evolution of its D-corps.
