The Jets would much rather keep Connor.

I’m surprised to see such a quick rejection of the idea. Gives us another right handed forward to replace Wheeler as he will inevitably decline in the coming years. Also much more defensively responsible than Connor or Wheeler, and could dish to Scheifele and Ehlers for years to come.

For me it comes down to 6 years of Connor to 4 years of Marner and Marner not being worth $2.3/ year than Connor and also being a no show in the playoffs. The Jets don't need expensive players that like to rack up points in the easy games, but disappear when you need them.

Playoff stat lines favour Marner, though.

@SRM Marginally. But Marner likes to put up points in the early games that don't matter and disappears when the going gets tough.

Both of these trades are no brainers from a Jets perspective

Marner is overpaid, but he's legitimately a top 10-20 winger in hockey. He is much better than Kyle "Phil Kessel North" Connor

Lol. Okay. You like guys that produce in easy games in the regular season. I prefer guys that produce in tough games and in the playoffs.

So... how do you prefer Kyle Connor? Did he even play in the first round this year?

Sorry, I didn't realize I was discussing this with someone who hasn't watched any games this year. Carry on.

I've watched every game. Kyle Connor isn't the player this fanbase wants to believe and sell him as
