I think POJ can step in on the 2nd line minutes role and play with Marino.

That is fair. I have seen a couple ideas where Oilers acquire DeSmith to backup for you guys.

Exactly... everyone keeps trying to send mediocre goalies to the Oilers on these. Oilers need to be getting into win-now mode. They're looking for someone with an established track record to stabilize the position, not bodies to fill roster spots. Guys like DeSmith/Korpisalo/Vanacek don't necessarily turn out any better than Koskinen. Better to take a flyer on a free agent.

Yah I see us resigning Mike Smith, or trading for a guy like Vitek Vanecek or something like that to be the backup/starter depending on if Vanecek is ready.

I personally like Vanecek, and I believe he is a improvement over Koskinen, but yah we need a starter right now. I’m thinking of Elvis Merzlikins with extension, or maybe Darcy Kuemper with extension, or signing Linus Ullmark.
