I dont think I would be willing to move a 1st + for him.. I think we should target a cheaper winger like Coleman

I like the idea of moving McCann + Pettersson for someone who plays a grittier game though. Just dont think I would be willing to throw in the 1st.

This is a pretty terrible trade for the Pens. You lose a great utility player in McCann, and good top 4 D in Pettersson and a 1st for a winger who's going to turn 30 this year and has a bad contract

Who is comming off arguably one of thr best seasons of his career and has averaged at least 25 goals over the last 6 years!
His contract is perfectly valued and it expired at 34. He is one of the contracts I don’t want the sharks to get rid of but ok...

7M for a dude is entering his 30's who plays a physical game which suggests he could regress very hard? Yea no that's not "perfectly valued".

I wouldn't mind the Pens trading for him if his contract had 2 years left at 5M, but the extra term and money makes it a tough one to take on

Lol everyone in hockey wants a 30 goal scoring power forward at 5 mil a season signed short term!!! the fact his contract ends at 34 is why it’s not a terrible deal and guys who play power forward and get 30 a season consistently are extremely rare, he hasn’t shown any signs of breaking down or slowing down and he hasn’t had any major injuries. His contract will prove to be solid throughout the deal I promise you, that’s being said I doubt the sharks trade him he was their main offense last season.
