Love that lineup. Would be awesome if they could pull it off, but I think it's a bit of wishful thinking. I think you got a smokin deal on just about every UFA you plugged in. Also think you significantly underpaid for Rakell. Anaheim will get more than that if they move him. Add a roster player or at least a blue-chip prospect... like Bear or Broberg.

Overall I think that line-up would cost you at least $2M more than you allocated and a good player/prospect. BUT... if Holland could find a way to move Koskinen, it just might be possible.

This is a very well-informed and well-constructed scheme for an initial effort. Congratulations! My first dozen team posts weren't as good.

As an Anaheim guy, I want to push back a little on your prior respondent's comment. I don't think that we can expect much more for Rickard Rakell, if we have to move him because he doesn't want to re-up with the Ducks. The 21st selection (give or take) in this draft plus Bear is too much, and the pick and Bouchard is out of the question. I think that even Bear plus a second might be too optimistic. It is true that RR is a better and more well-rounded player than Kasperi Kapanen, but KK got an earlier pick plus a prospect because he wasn't a rental.

With regard to Edmonton's cap situation, I agree with @Krahntinuum that you're a little low on some of your UFA prices, but keep in mind that you may not have Oskar Klefbom's cp hit this year and, as he says, if you can move Koskinen, you have no problem at all. By the way, I think that the team successfully bidding for Linus Ullmark's services is going to give him 4 or 5 years.

Thanks for the feedback. I believe the price is close for Rakell and an A prospect is out of the question for an addition. A B defensive prospect like Samorukov would be as high as I would go in addition to the 1st.
I burried Koskinen to avoid paying for him more than 1 year but the option to buy him out or trade him while retaining half salary makes up some money that may be missing for UFA shortfalls.
As mentioned Klefbom may not be available and would go into LTIR. Oleksiak would be his replacement and either Russell is 3LD or another cheap UFA 3LD is signed. in this situation money is saved in a combined 2LD and 3LD.
The only UFA under pay I see is possibly Coleman but the money is there for a bump up if needed. And I think Tatar is a very real Barrie type 1 year deal. Bump up his stats playing in the Oilers top 6 and 1PP to cash in on one last bigger deal. His value is lower today and I don't see him as a day 1 UFA signing unless he takes a 1 year deal.
I would be comfortable paying Ullmark another 500K and 1-2 years.
