Pretty sure that is a hard no from the Jackets - this trade is terrible.

Yea getting a young 2nd line center with potential of being a 1st, a top 4 defenceman, and a top 9 two-way forward(who is admittedly abit over priced, but thats why Tampa would do this trade)....terrible.

All for a guy who doesn't want to even be in columbus anymore and a couple of 3rds.

LOL - TJ is over paid for what he brings, and the lightning want to dump he, do you think teams will want to help them? The Jackets don't need a TJ. Cirelli is a good number # centre and saying he could be a true number 1 centre is a stretch. Good player for sure, but not elite (he is a guy every coach wants on the team, but not the guy you want as the number 1 when teams have the likes of Matthews, McDavid, Sid, Barkov, and this list could go on and on). As for your top 4 D man - he may slot into the shut down aspect and be the 3,4, 5 D man on a roster - but nothing to run home for.

Tampa would love this, they would get another number 1 D man to play along with Hedman, get rid of their issues and get draft capital back. The Jackets would get an over priced player (TJ) and 2 other players that dont push the needle much for their roster.

The one thing that you are correct with, Jones does want out - but I am not sure a deal is likely made unless Cal Foote is included.
