the season was 56 games. You said he had a resurgent season but half the season he was mostly bad and considering he has been a negative WAR player in 18-19 + 19-20 (along with the worst xgf% rel) it's not surprising that leddy came down to earth again.


It technically still was a resurgent year for him. I don't really care all that much about how he did it, necessarily, but a lot of it was because his offensive game came back to levels that he had 4 seasons ago. So it's not as if he didn't have the skills to pull it off, and offensive-minded defensemen are notoriously streaky commodities.

I care how he did because it likely means it’s not repeatable. I attribute his increased point production to luck and playing with wahlstrom on the powerplay. He was still a below average play driver at both ends of the ice, which is why the isles need to trade him this offseason.
