They just overvalue him. His value is not going down as long as he comes back healthy.

If it really is being considered a serious injury, then they should just avoid him altogether.

It may feel like a Win at first if you can get him for a quarter of a dollar. But that $10M Cap hit will do a lot more damage on the back end, especially if the player in question can't play up to it.

The Cap is precious in this league. Shouldn't just give a big chunk of it away for a "maybe still good" player, just because you thought you got a good deal.

Darren Dreger also said "The Sabres received trade interest on a number of players including Eichel"

His price isn't that low. Teams like Minnesota, Vegas, etc will still be interested and could give up more

Friedman also said that Buffalo doesn’t want to bring him back and that he expects him to be traded before the draft. Meaning they won’t have time for him to come back healthy before he’s traded off

The kings had the most trade fire power in the league. Them backing out of the running has a huge effect on what his return will be

His value did not go down though. They better get reasonable with what they want, because players that are playing like 4 first round picks or whatever it was is too much!

Realistically, the Kings don't even need Eichel. They should't take the risk of trading a guy like Turcotte+ for Eichel

A team like Vegas or Minnesota could trade picks+prospects they don't need for Eichel. If he gets a big injured, put him on LTIR. Low risk, high reward

Vegas has negative cap space and Minnesota’s top prospects are 1.a winger consistently ranked lower than Kravstov in prospect rankings and 2.a center that hasn’t been on the ice in 7 months due to serious Covid complications

Vegas are likely to trade MAF after this year. I did a test Eichel trade to Vegas. It works.

I rather have Boldy and Rossi over Kravtsov. Im pretty sure Buffalo would to

Also according to The Fourth Period, The Ducks tried to get Eichel during the season and they are still interest

Eichel's value isn't going down
