I reckon we only sign one D for the right side. Chabot/Branny/Mete is good on the left and Zub is good and the organization likes Zaitsev fsr. Ideally it’s a top 4 defensive RHD but honestly if Hamilton will come I’d take him, Chabot-JBD Sanderson-Hamilton is an elite, well-balanced top 4 in 2-3 years and it makes Branny acceptable to upgrade the top 6. So basically I think we don’t need Forbort, maybe a less expensive 7/8 guy (i.e. claim Kylington on waivers maybe), but Brown can be the 7D with JBD pushing.

You missed Seattle they prob snag Tierney. I think I’d rather have Daddy than Martinook tbh. Dont hate Bozak on the 4th line but if you wanted Watson there that works too, we’ve got some good AHL depth (Bishop, Amadio, Shaw, Sokolov). Pinto>L. Brown for sure, Brown hasn’t earned more than min and Pinto is better, he’ll prob be the 3C.

Batherson is not a C, he's purely an RW. Also Dadonov > Martinook, and Norris is easily the 1C on this team. Sens won't get value from trading Dadonov after his down year, so they should keep him and bank on the bounce back. There's also basically no reason for Logan Brown or Chris Tierney to play ahead of Shane Pinto at this point. I don't mind Bozak as a depth signing, but I think Ottawa likes what Watson brings in that 4RW slot.

On D, the last thing Ottawa needs is a bottom of the lineup LD. Ottawa has a very capable left side with Chabot, Brannstrom and Mete. what they need is a steady top 4 RD who can play with Chabot or Brannstrom (if Zub plays with Chabot) and push Zaitsev to playing 3rd pair with Mete. Basically no chance Dougie Hamilton would choose Ottawa. He can punch his ticket anywhere in the league this summer.

If Hamilton didn’t care where he went and was willing to come here for the right price (likely a little more than this, I’d imagine he’d want 8.8 to match Petro, or 9+his number to match Josi if he’s into that bs) would you sign him? Not sure if you saw my post, but I think a Chabot-JBD Sanderson-Hamilton top 4 is pretty elite and well-balanced, and Brannstrom becomes expendable to improve up front (get a high end C or RW to complement Stutzle and the 10th overall pick on the 2nd line) or a luxury as a high end 3rd pair guy (don’t really need him running a PP with Chabot and Hamilton there though, so he probably gets dealt). I don’t know how much it helps us next year as we’re still relying pretty heavily on Zub for the whole defense thing, but it definitely improves our offense and makes us a better team long term imo. What do you think?

At 8-8.5mil, if he's will to come you have to consider it, but at anything more you're running hard into overpay Territory. If anything he should be taking a discount to come here, because Ottawa is loaded to the top with Museums for him to visit.

i think minnesota would do it because they could use some better winger depth but the lines i just kinda threw them together in a few minuties but thanks for the feedback.
