I am assuming that LV takes Lehner and signed him so we dont actually lose anyone under contract. Now the team is completely crushed by the cap space as per usual. Now heres the part where everyone gets to say im completely insane and all the moves are moronic.

Because he's an RFA and has few options, sign for ~3mill, Go to arbitration and miss game and then sign for around 3mill, or not play

Yes he'll be a 30 goal scorer, but that is in one season. Nobody, besides McDavid/Matthews, should get that type of money for one season of production especially when he can take 2.5 mil and be on a Stanley Cup Contender.

or hell get an offersheet..im sure arbitration will pay him more than 3 million its based off last seasons stats....hes also 24 ...25 by the time he signs that deal... and he has a cup already

Gah I hope PIT is stupid enough to do that. Sheary isn't a top 6 player. If he plays with anyone else other than Crosby or Malkin he probably doesn't do much. He's a good 3rd liner.
