Description
As much as everyone likes to realize, Duchene isn't gonna land Ekblad or Werenski. Stop and think what did trading Taylor Hall get the Oilers, Larsson number 2 or 3 at best. It took Ryan Johansen to land Seth Jones. Duchene's a solid 50-60 point player, Derek Stepan is exactly that plus he plays a much better defensive game which could allow the Avs to utilize him in a more defensive way and simply ease the burden for MacKinnon during their rebuild or retool. Girardi going the other way is still an upgrade for their blue line that could pretty much use all the help they can get, plus they have a decent amount of cap space after this season. The Isles-Rangers trade in the offseason fills needs for both teams despite the fact that they're rivals. If you really think about it they could be perfect trade partners. Tampa could use another d-man to help them in their pursuit of the cup because after their top pair they're in need of help. Again just for kicks, but respond and let me know what you think or would have done differently.

    The Colorado deal is terrible but the Islanders trade is intriguing. Even with the salary retention I think the pick would need to be a 1st since Hamonic is sign for 2 more years than Nash (at 3.857 mill AAV).
