Ottawa declines. They already have a goalie logjam.

I definitely like the idea of finding a trade for Neal rather than all the buyout talk. Significant "dead money" for the next 4 seasons would be brutal. But if that's the price it takes Holland to have Seattle take that problem (and I'm sure it will be!) then I sure hope he uses that extra cap space to very good use! Otherwise I say the Oilers just gut it out and if they have to, bury him in the minors for a savings for the final 2 years of his contract.

That deal seems to have the "to ANY TEAM for a 7th rounder" sort of vibe!

I realistically can't see Stalock getting any major return so a 6th/7th from any team would be realistic.

There's an alternate reality where you move Neal and sign someone like Hamilton, move Bear for Debrusk (some fine tuning may be needed here) bring in Killorn instead of Schwartz for a 2nd and maybe a low tier prospect. I left a majority of Neals cap (5~M) to adjust for dollars signed, some flexibility at the deadline and such.

Some interesting ideas, a lot I don’t think happen. But I am very interested in Gibson

I always thought maybe Benson could be shipped for a player like Debrusk. I'd prefer Schwartz than Killorn. No assets lost to acquire. Gibson would be a huge add, but I think Holland explores the UFA route first. Also don't see any scenario where he trades his 1st round picks for the next 3 seasons.
