Seattle may go with Donskoi, but my money would be on the glut of blueliners that Colorado won't be able to protect. One of Toews or Graves will be gone, if I had to guess. For the hell of it, I hope the Blues OS Makar and put Sakic and Co in a bind.

Colorado will protect Toews when EJ waives his NMC. They may take Graves though! And Makar isn't eligible to be offer sheeted

Extremely young 3rd line C with upside, and a 2nd round pick for a rental

What am I missing re: Makar? Isn't he an RFA?

Toews is getting protected 100%. Johnson is apparently waiving his clause, and if he doesn't, they'll go with the option that lets them protect 4 D.

What? Yes, he (Makar) is, and he will be if Sakic tries to lowball him.

No it's something to do with his status because they burnt the first year of his ELC in his playoffs, same reason McAvoy couldn't be offer sheeted. I can't remember the clause

Interesting. I thought I'd heard talking heads mention the possibility of Makar getting an OS. Guess we're all misunderstood.
