while i don’t mind the getzlaf signing, 4 mil even for only 1 year is an overpay for him. 1.8-2.3 million seems more reasonable. he wasn’t great defensively and declined offensively. the Giordano trade is interesting because paired with ekblad, he could definitely get back to 50-55 points in an 82 game regular season. But getting rid of Yandle should i be a priority at this point. he’s making too much to be a healthy scratch in the playoffs.

Why send Gio to Seattle first. Flames would happily take that deal for Gio already.

cause the flames would then have to protect yandle and vatrano, i agree with you it makes sense for the flames to take but they would immediately lose one of the two.
