Kind of the same

Created by: GarthBrooks
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 21, 2021
Published: Jun. 21, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Kerfoot showed he can play in a top 6 role in the playoffs (one of the only ones that did) so he gets promoted. Robertson might not be ready but imo he's gotta play in the top 6 on this team or back to the AHL, he didn't look good when he played on Spezza's line (and that line isn't the line to accomidate him, he's a top 6 style player). Foligno takes a discount? (iunno if he's really worth that much anyways), Galchenyuk returns on a 1 mil prove it contract playing on the top 6 again, 4th line's kind of the same. Brah lowkey this team lost because their big boys did not show up at all (look at Point, Kucherov, Mackinnon, Stone, Paciorretty, Barzal, Nelson), other teams' top 6 boys were playing like they should. Tavares getting injured was also a big factor. Keefe better get confident and start punishing the big boys for bad plays throughout the regular season.

This is just last years team but with losing Hyman, why would a worse version of last years team lead to a different result?

honestly one of the better leafs teams ive seen on capfriendly. only thing is the leafs need to aquire a good top 6 LW (Grandlund, Saad) to replace Hyman on L1. I'd stick Robertson in on L2 instead of Galch, and move Galch to 3rd line LW, Kuraly to centre, and not sign Foligno. but then theres no where for Kerfoot who was a big factor in the playoffs, so idk. Maybe don't sign Kurally and keep Kerfoot at 3C, or trade Kerfoot which is probs gonna happen this offszn anyways.

It's not like MTL out chanced them or anything. The 40 million dollar boys laid an egg in that series. If it's the same result, then dump them but I think realistically Dubas isn't going to make any major changes, he has the first in the North thing and with MTL going far it gives him another excuse. He's not going to change, using his analytics he thought he iced a Stanley cup winning roster, he's still going to see it that way. He said Ceci was playing well in toronto via his analytics so he's obviously not using the eye test at all

I was watching that Steve Dangle Podcast and one of the guys read a tweet that said "Why does an 11 million dollar scorer need an 11 million dollar playmaker?", which made so much sense. Why does an 11 million dollar center and an 11 million RW need a 5-6 million dollar LW? As much as I like the Leafs, the lack of responsibility I heard from their exit meetings except for Campbell, I have this weird feeling like these big guys are alright with their performances. Did you see Mackinnon's post game interview? I wish we had anyone on this team that would show any frustrations. Imo I just wanna throw anyone on that top line at this point
