Wishful Offseason

Created by: QuackAttack
Team: 2021-22 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2021
Published: Jun. 22, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These moves are obviously ( most ) unrealistic, but somewhat in reach for the Ducks. Could greatly help to do a few of these, but we know who our GM is.

Trades
1.
2.
ANA
  1. Tkachuk, Matthew
Additional Details:
Doubt Tkachuk would be moved inter conference, but he would be an amazing fit for Zegras - Comtois line. Plus his favorite player growing up was SCOREY Perry!
CGY
  1. Perreault, Jacob
  2. Terry, Troy
  3. 2021 1st round pick (ANA)
3.
ANA
  1. McCann, Jared
  2. 2022 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Ducks get a gifted two way center who could play on the wing if needed. McCann is still only 25 which helps with the young based Ducks.
PIT
  1. Deslauriers, Nicolas
  2. Rakell, Rickard ($1,200,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Penguins need grit and a scorer to replace Zucker as he begins to fall. Pens and Ducks have always been good trade partners and I could see the Pens run for another cup while Crosby and Malkin are still available.
4.
ANA
  1. Zaitsev, Nikita
  2. 2022 7th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Dump who could use a new change + compensation for the extra 6K
OTT
  1. Shattenkirk, Kevin
Additional Details:
Dump who could use a new change
5.
ANA
  1. Hagelin, Carl ($800,000 retained)

Deslaurier is terrible. Hextall has been clear he wants heavy players who can play, so that cancels him out.

I think if you remove Deslaurier and downgrade the 1st into a 2nd, so McCann + 2nd for Rakell, it's a good deal.

is it a foregone conclusion that 3OA is probably traded this offseason?

If the ducks make the big splash that’s been rumored, it’ll probably be the main piece.

I was on the “move Shattenkirk at all costs” train until I saw some numbers. Of the D pairs that played at least 50 min together Shattenkirk was apart of 4 of the 5 best pairs at GF% af 5v5. Might be okay to keep him and move Manson instead.

Ottawa accepts. Maybe add a 3rd instead of a 7th
