If Toews is done No Eichel

Created by: Aussie_Blackhawk
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 23, 2021
Published: Jun. 23, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
A realistic outlook on life without Toews in 21-22.

EDM are rumoured to only have $30m ready to commit to RNH so this takes his deal slightly over this however could be increased if he wants more money or term. If we don't sign him, we roll with Suter playing more minutes in the top 6 and guys moving up the lineup.

If toews is done, I think seeing if Kane and keith will move on and gaining some great assets would be their best route

I would love to see Hawks sign another goalie who can challenge Lankinen and maybe a veteran? Why not Andersen or Rittich?

If Chicago scratch Nylander it's better to trade him. Nylander and a 4th to flyers in exchange for Nolan Patrick.

Yeah Rittich would be my preference if we did go for that. Im not convince the organisation will but he would be my pick.

I don't see Kane leaving CHI, he will be a lifer and probably wants to keep legacy in Hawk folklore now he's won it all. Keith finished the season in concussion protocol so I'm assuming he will be back but if it happens again, I am interested to see what happens.

I also don't think we would get much for Keith and as for Kane, with his cap it would be tough for most teams to handle.

Ive seen that a lot, but I'm keen to see what Nylander can offer. Nylander is only there because of the RNH sign and me trying a ACGM with Borgstrom as the 3C. Alternatively I would have Nylander on the 3rd/4th line. Im the odd one out on Nylander. I liked what he offered when on the puck, I just want to see more of it.

Keith probably not so much but hawks are definitely in position to retain on Kane for two years to maximize his value.

While I agree we could do that, He is in control of where he goes with his NMC. He seems intent on staying and helping build the next generation of blackhawks. He is enjoying playing with the Cat and we're keen to see how Dach can go with extended time.

Yeah, I really want Nylander to break out, but i don't know. Maybe I would have put Nylander in the 3RW position and scratch Connolly. A fourth line with Kurashev-Kämpf-Hagel in that case.

Rittich or Ullmark would be a very good target, maybe Driedger. A lot of logic there in looking into one of them

I prefer Hagel further up the lineup. He's got decent skill to go with his work ethic.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, but wit us just signing Soderblom whilst other teams were interested, there may be an indication that he may get a chance at some stage this year. Lank for me is our 1 but I'm not convinced on Delia or Subban tbh so I wouldn't have any issue with signing a Vet.

Maybe but he's only 21, very few players can jump from the SHL to the NHL, especially goalies. He will probably play in the ECHL or AHL this year. For a similar example so I can kinda relate it, Wolf just won WHL goalie of the year for the 2nd year in a row and looked very good in his short stint in the AHL with the Heat. He will however not be NHL ready for at least 2 years. Expect Soderblom to be similar

Yes very true, though with the success of Oettinger and Knight may give a little optimism to goalies getting a go at an earlier age than normal.

Add Hart to that list

Those giys were 1st round picks though. So often goalies are very hit or miss usually they make the jump by age 24-26
