Description
This was the most realistic version of what I think Brisebois will do this offseason. I absolutely despise Jan Rutta so it sucks that we have to have him here for another year. Cal Foote being taken also sucked. Bettman you should fix the expansion draft buddy. Let me know if anything should be changed

Detroit wants to do a deal here.

You're barely squeezing under the cap with this and Detroit really need centre prospects and you've got three of them.

Do you want to trade away the cost of Killorn or Palat for one of them? What if we send you a cheaper player back (Namestnikov or Pánik)?

    TJ + Palat + Finley + Alnefelt + Cajkovic + 1st + 4th for Pánik?

I'd gladly take palat too we could flip him at the deadline easy enough. It's gonna cost more than just a guy like panik though palat has actual value even is tampa is over a barrel.

Yeah I hate the idea of Johnson but you have to take that deal.

    I kind of like TJ.

He fits very well in Detroit's timeline. He's good enough to play 2C next season and if Veleno or Rasmussen (or Eklund) were to take big steps and claim that spot for 22-23 then he can move to the wing as a mentor. I see TJ as positive for, at least, the first two years and much better than what we've endured with Nielsen and Filppula for his last year.

He's useful, fills a need, affordable (for us), and brings a haul with him. What's not to like?

So You're saying JBB. is a liar? JBB at state of the Lightning presser after TDL Alnefelt isn't available. I realize that's coach speak for it'll cost more than most are willing to pay this certainly is not ****ing that!! No ****ing way they give that much future away to dump TJ

TJ has been much better this season than he was last season. We could really use a 2C right now. Plus the assets who'd come with him.

I think TB will just send a 1st to Seattle for them to take TJ. He's a local guy I'm sure they'd love to have for that reason so it would be better for both sides than the Detroit trade.

So the haul part I like and if that's what he'd come with id sure do it. I don't think he'd be a negative at all I just don't love him as a player. You're right though he'd be our 2nd center and offensively hed be an upgrade.

With the amount of cap TB needs to shed only making one move will not help you.

You will need to move more expensive players out and you will have to find out which combination of which players go where and at what cost works out best for you. You may have to do a less advantagous deal on one player to facilitate better ones for two other players. It's the end result that matters.

We'll have to wait and see where TJ ends up. Detroit is willing to take him on, for a price...

The Palat trade to Edmonton makes sense too, for both sides. Moving those 2 assets will help but the biggest problem for TB is McDonagh's contract.

I would rather give you Goncalves than Finley tbh. we can just flip palat to edmonton to get him out of our division and still get a solid backup goalie, 3rd and a 5th.

It will, you are underestimating how much we will need to give up to get rid of Johnson. Teams are not in a spot where they want to help us out. I don't understand why Alnefelt wouldn't be available. Do you see him taking over Vasy's starting job in the near future with that contract? GMs can change their mindset and get desperate at times, and we are definitely in a position where we are desperate.

That would be so nice tbh. I thought of that too but I think this is a little more realistic.
