I think a second for Troy is a little bit of an overpay even if salary retained

And holden coming back so +2.5 salary compared 850k for vegas and considering gustaffson got a 2nd i think he might fetch a 2nd next deadline with multiple teams in the mix , a 3rd at least

There's a lot of speculation Nashville goes the 8 skater protection route. (4 F / 4 D) Don't think they want to part with Fabbro in any way, shape, or form. This really flies against all the "master plans" I've been reading when it comes to Detroit this off-season. Some of your fellow Wings fans may be on here reminding you that "you're not trading Stecher!" But I get it, it's hinged on acquiring Fabbro, I like it . . . a little out of the box thinking!!

You're taking a huge risk on RD.

There's absulutely nothing in GR that will save you in case of injury.

Keeping 4 RD would be prudent and it would also help on LD if you kept Lindström as he can play both sides.

Patching the left side is pretty easy this year with the number of players available, both in FA and on cap dump deals.

Playing in GR isn't the problem.

The problem is if he needs to play on the Wings if Hronek/Seider gets injured.

Hronek gets injured you play seider fabbro 1-2 and you move a left d on the right for a stint if need be its been done . Its not the end of the world and im aure yzerman isnt trying to win next season . Maybe he signs a 6-8 dman now , mcilrath comes up for a stint , the newpower guy we just signed , hicketts if hes retained in grand rapids . We’ll be fine

Pretty sure Nashville does go the 8 skater route, exposing Johansen and Duchene, it would be a benefit for Nashville if they got selected. They risk losing a middle six winger otherwise. I think fabbro could be a really good addition and for that cost I would take the risk, we have alot of draft picks and poised to likely get more. I would prefer to keep Stetcher until the deadline but i think this deal makes some sense for us. Still think Nashville protects 8 though.

The thing for teams like Vegas and Tampa and other cap strapped teams that are in win now mode, they have to kind of over pay for cap deals I think. Especially for a solid guy like Stetcher, where else do you find a player like him for $850k? Not only are you helping them fit under the cap, you are helping them to make another upgrade.

Which is why i thought the 2nd for stetcher at 850k as well as taking on holden sounded fair , no way we’d get. First back
