Last thing we need is to add another dman making 8+ per longterm when seider’s deal is coming up and possibly edvinsson will get big money a few years down the line and we have walman already and possibly resigning ghost since he’s meshed so we’ll and a ton of dmen prospects coming up

We have 3 goalies like Mtl currently has. 0% chance it’s about the goalie ... the talk could just as easily be Berggren for a pick as boring as it sounds and idiotic if you ask me. Think he’s got really good upside and is a good playmaker and I’d like to keep him. I was just looking at the habs lineup and xhekaj would be the only one that I can see Yzerman having interest in after the sens game
But again wings are stacked at left d with wallinder, buium, viro,Cleveland, johansson I don’t see why we’d need to add another dman unless he’d turn around and deal wallinder

Value of Jake walman
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SharkTank</b></div><div>Edvinsson and Pelikka aren't ready yet. One thing I've noticed from Red Wings fans in particular is that when a player Yzerman has acquired becomes good they want to trade them.
But keep their own picks who become good. Why do they have to be traded immediately? And it's always the same. Like with Hronek. "He'll want a raise so he must be traded."
You're basically the Montreal Expos of the NHL. A feeder system for other teams. Is this the goal?
Acquire, develop and trade?
I guess Debrincat will have to be traded when his contract is up. God forbid they'd keep him!</div></div>
Who else did we acquire that’s good that I wanted to ship out? Lol .... edvinsson is ready he just can’t make the team now cause Yzerman signed and traded for a bunch of guys but he can easily jump into the lineup now and stick
Yes I did say hronek should be traded cause when his contract will be up I didn’t think Yzerman would want to pay him 7-9 per and I was right 😂 Vancouver gets those honours now .... like I said it all goes to **** if edvinsson and pelikka bust but they look really good right now and hronek trade is basically for pelikka Cleveland and a german forward forget his name now . Got 0 regrets moving hronek
Point is I can see the same thing happening with walman, I do think he gets dealt eventually if he keeps producing but it won’t be till at least the 2024 deadline or off season. I can’t see Yzerman giving walman 6-8 per year longterm
We didn’t develop debrincat 😂 we have a bunch of prospects fighting for spots next year and year after guys will have to be moved

Value of Jake walman
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shaquille_Oatmeal</b></div><div>I've been thinking about this as well.
Until Edvinsson proves he belongs on the top pair in the NHL, I don't see Yzerman moving Walman. But IF Edvinsson can do that it would probably be a smart move to trade Walman - I don't think we should trade Walman for just futures tho. The Red Wings already have a lot of quantity in the organization, Yzerman should be looking for a Matthew Tkachuk type trade to get a star player who can be here for a long time.
Somebody like Wallinder, Johansson or Buium could likely fill the 2nd pair LD spot in the future. Good that we have depth in the organization.</div></div>
Nobody is gonna trade us anything close to Matthew tkachuk .. I wish lol ... only way to do that is through the draft . That 1st for walman is always an extra trade chip in what can be a big future deal though
If I knew we could resign walman for 3 more years when his deal ended for 4.5-5.5 I’d keep him around but I think if he continues on this pace he’ll be gone and I’d rather get something for him we can use for the future than let him walk

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SharkTank</b></div><div>Nope. Red Wings will keep the defenseman who has great chemistry with Seider playing on a bargain contract.</div></div>
No doubt he’s got great chemistry but do you think we’ll be able to retain him after his contracts up? I don’t ... unless edvinsson and pelikka bust which would be a disaster . If continues on 40-50pts pace for 3 years he’ll ask for 7+ per which I wouldn’t give. I just think sometimes we should think longterm and now or next summer might be a good time to deal him while he’s value is really high and edvinsson is ready
The way I see it is if edvinsson and pelikka become what we hope we might have 3 dmen making 7-9 per? Can’t see us adding a 4th ... and I can’t see how walman won’t try to get a 6-8 year deal when he’s a ufa at 30 and it’s a hard no for me

Value of Jake walman
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>I think a 1st is definitely possible…but I wouldn’t go with just picks. How is this for a “hockey trade”?
Walman for Frost
I think if Wings want a young center…that could be interesting. Others maybe…Hayton, Dach, Turcotte…in that range depending on your taste.</div></div>
I’d take a flyer on turcotte but if I think walman can get a 1st + especially with the current cap hit off a team like Toronto for example who are desperate for d help and have cap issues I wouldn’t do it . I’d rather trade a 2nd and a mid prospect and take a gamble even though I think he’s a bust at this point
I think we’re ok at Center with danielson and kasper being drafted recently. As for frost I’d personally wait and give the likes of Soderblom mazur etc.. a shot. I just thought if we’re thinking longterm and thinking we likely won’t be able to resign him which I think is the likely scenario if he continues to 40-50 pt seasons might be a good time to flip him now or in the summer with edvinsson being ready
Prospect would be nice but not sure which one would be equivalent of a first round pick. I know with at least a 1st attached that’s a future extra first rounder to pick or a bargaining chip for a future big trade

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SharkTank</b></div><div>I think Yzerman would rather keep Edvinsson in Grand Rapids for the rest of the season playing big minutes and gaining confidence. But that's just my opinion.
He'll definitely be on the team next season. He'll likely be called up for a few games this season. Maatta might get a 2nd. I'm thinking 3rd though.</div></div>
Yzerman has always said if your play dictates you belong on the team he’ll make it happen. I’m sorry edvinsson has done that. Think he would make the team better and give us more offence from the back end on the 3rd pairing for this season
I agree what you said will likely happen cause Yzerman couldn’t help himself and signed a ton of guys and despite what he says he’d do he won’t do it. I think it’s the wrong move

just wondering what Some of these players would go for if dealt
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Rees is a good C, hardworking and physical. The problem he has in the Canes system is that he doesn’t have a clear pathway to the NHL, at least with Carolina. I mean, for this season, it was a dogfight between Drury, Suzuki, and Ponomarev for the 4C slot, and Drury won it mostly due to Suzuki and Ponomarev getting injured during the preseason, but also due to him already having NHL experience. Rees also would have to deal with the added competition with Pashin and Robidas playing pretty well, and that isn’t counting all the wing prospects he might have to beat out for playing time on the wing. It would be a shame to see him go, but he could probably be had for a 2nd or 3rd. Value is kind of hard to gauge with Rees.
As for Gunler, he seems like he might be a late bloomer, but it seems as time continues on, he becomes more of a boom or bust prospect. Value is hard to gauge with him as well, with a 2nd or 3rd probably being enough, but he should at least be a good bottom 6 option, maybe someone like Noesen is who he develops into. Gunler also has some stiff competition on the wings he would have to beat out for NHL playing time, and with guys like FUS, Blake, Emerson, Lucius, Mukhanov, Nadeau, Perron, Trikozov, and Perevalov all being younger and developing really well so far, he has a tough route to the NHL.</div></div>
Thanks for the reply .mYa I just remember Rees being real good at the world juniors thought for sure he’d make at least the bottom 6. Maybe he’ll get a look elsewhere . As for gunler I remember hearing he took nights off which might explain why he’ll be turning 23 into next season and nowhere in sight and back in Europe. Sadly despite his talent I think he’ll end up staying in Europe at this point

Think dower nilsson would be a lock but I seen he had shoulder surgery and hasn’t played yet so I highly doubt he makes the team . Thought for sure Cleveland might get a look with his size , I’m unsure on Gibson I’d say no but maybe there’s a reason the wings took him in the 2nd
Be nice to see 5-7 guys from the wings in the tournament. We need some of these guys to be elite players for us down the road

I’d move sprong right now for a 2nd or at the deadline if a team comes asking . The other players neeeded to be involved to make the salary work and I’m still intrigued with broberg even though our left d side is the best in our depth pool . Would just have been another piece to deal at a later point between wallinder buium etc... if he turned his game around but don’t see us trading for him in real life anyways
Ya unfortunately it doesn’t seem we care about the prospects which bug me cause we’ll need them when we’re contending again and sooner they get nhl experience the better . Berggren and edvinsson 100% should be up for good imo
