Rebuild

Created by: BPM921
Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2021
Published: Jun. 28, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Eichel Trade: Minnesota adds Rask to clear 2.1 million while also acquiring Eichel.

Risto Trade: NJ rumored to be interested in Risto not sure what the Buffalo will get in return but if they want Wood they will have to retain and add 3rd/4th rounder to acquire him.

Reinhart Trade: Reino wants to go out west and Vancouver should be very interested in him. I saw this exact trade from a Canucks fan.

Free Agent Signings

Zach Hyman: Might take more $ to get him to sign here, I think it might be difficult to convince him to play here when there will be a couple more years until the Sabres are even playoff contenders.

Chris Driedger: He wants to be a Starter and his best bet is to come here and take over the net until UPL is ready.

don’t think human would sign here. he wants a cup, and he’s not gonna waste what’s left of his prime on a crappy rebuild team.

If we get Risto, it will be for like a 3rd. We're not giving up anything of true value for him. I'd rather them go for Homerun signing with Dougie or someone whose a solid two way guy like Ceci

Maybe they find a suitor for Eriksson or get some cap space through the expansion draft. I have been a huge Reinhart fan and would hate to see him go but I wouldn't sleep on how skilled he is and how high his Hockey IQ is. He would be a great top 6 forward on the right team. Also has versatility that allows him to excel as a Center and Winger. If Eriksson was included in this deal I think the Canucks would have to pay a higher price for the Sabres to take on the 6m contract.

Honestly Canuck will consider that. You better be ready to give Lind a roster spot though cause I’m pretty sure he will be waiver eligible and the canucks will take him right back.

Considering that the odds of Hyman signing here is very unlikely, I think that would open up a roster spot for Lind. I wouldn't be surprised if they buried Eakin in the minors to open up a spot as well.
