Has Marchenko fallen that far out of favour that you would waive him rather than try to get something for him?

The rumor is he is going to be waived this weekend when Smith comes off IR, the logical choice is to waive Ericsson or Kronwall since they would not be claimed but Kenny does not want to hurt feelings.

And honestly as much as I want to waive Ericsson and I think that would be he best choice. We do have an immense abudance of 3rd pairing right defense going into next season so losing one would not be that painful. However I do think a trade is possible with marchenko.

Agree that Marchenko is the odd man out here, And for those wanting to waive Kronwall and Ericsson this makes zero sense neither will get claimed and Detroit would only save $950,000 with each and there's zero chance that Holland would send either to Grand Rapids both Kronwall and Ericsson need to have their career ending surgeries respectively and just LTIR it for the next 2 and 3 years.

Kronwall hopefully retires soon and Ericsson shouldn't be far behind him. If both can get buried on LTIR that would be the best case scenario because it saves more cap space than demoting them to Grand Rapids. I'm sensing that most of you would prefer Jensen or Sproul to play over Marchenko? I'm fine with that, but I would rather see Detroit get a draft pick for Marchenko rather than lose him to waivers...

It's not that we want to lose marchenko for nothing it's just us knowing Holland and knowing what he's about to do with smith coming back this weekend

I don't think Mrazek should be traded. He's proven he has the potential to be an NHL starter and is having a slump on a bad defensive team. Most goalies go through this an many peak latter in there careers. Best thing to do is be patient on him.

Agreed on the bad defense and everything. But I also believe that rozie (although in a smaller size sample) has shown the same thing. And Mrazek being the easier to trade could land us some defensive help. If we can win with howie and rozie than what's the problem with using Mrazek as a trade chip with a team that has exactly what you need?
