What does Carolina do with the other 2 goalies they have?
If we're talking straight up value wise? Yeah I guess maybe it works. In terms of plausibility? I don't think so. If you going to make a trade like this, at least have the coeurtesy of taking one of their goalies of their hands. Otherwise I just can't see it happening.
Regarding the AGM itself, Dekeyser is a decent player, maybe not 5M decent but still good. Teams would be lining up to trade for him. the caveat being some salary would need to go back to you for it to work.</div></div>
I agree that you might have to retain salary to move him, but he's a bottom pair defender on any other team in the NHL, he has size and doesn't use it. Not a great shot, not physical and terrible positioning. He should've gotten a Smith contract.</div></div>
Three things to note here: 1. I would be leaving Justin Abdelkader or Darren Helm unprotected before Danny DeKeyser; 2. Detroit is overpaying for Michael Del Zotto at $4-million per year for a player that has been a healthy scratch for parts of the last two seasons...he more than likely gets a one-year "show me" contract like Thomas Vanek did; 3. I think all of you are over-evaluating Jeff Skinner at the NHL level...he's eclipsed the 50-point mark just twice in the last five years (likely does it his year) and that deal needs to have Eddie Lack or Cam Ward coming back rather than Lee Stempniak.

My dream offseason

Third line looks pretty promising and I like the idea of losing Helm or Abdelkader in expansion rather than Sheahan. However, I think Athanasiou needs to be playing a Top 6 role.

The Re-build
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hotNreadyWings</b></div><div>You just lost Russo and nosek to waivers. And probably frk too</div></div>
Russo is exempt from waivers this year. And i can see Nosek and Frk possibly being our #13 and #14 forwards this year.</div></div>
Detroit already lost Martin Frk to waivers earlier this year and re-claimed him. Detroit is treating Frk like they did Tomas Jurco, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's not on the team in the next couple years. I'm just spit-balling and wondering if Nyquist or Tatar plus a pick would get Fowler? It might be in Detroit's best interest to shop Danny DeKeyser aggressively as I think that contract might come back to bite them. What is Robbie Russo? He was a 4th-round draft pick by the New York Islanders and was he acquired in the Alan Quine deal last year? Everyone seems hell-bent on Russo, and he's going to be 24 next season, as far as I'm concerned you can loop him into the same category as Dylan McIlrath. They might as well re-sign McIlrath or else that Thomas Vanek deal was a complete waste of time at the deadline...

Gallant's team
Kronwall hopefully retires soon and Ericsson shouldn't be far behind him. If both can get buried on LTIR that would be the best case scenario because it saves more cap space than demoting them to Grand Rapids. I'm sensing that most of you would prefer Jensen or Sproul to play over Marchenko? I'm fine with that, but I would rather see Detroit get a draft pick for Marchenko rather than lose him to waivers...

I hate you, Kenny
Why on Earth are they going to trade Dylan Larkin? The idea is not to deplete the youth, but get rid of the baggage on the team (i.e. Kronwall, Ericsson, Green, Vanek and even Nyquist or Tatar).
