I see two issues with this trade.

From CLB’s perspective, they are losing their #1 D for a #2/3 D and a 3rd. I think the price would start at Morrissey and a 1st, but I don’t see CLB interested.

From WPG’s perspective, Werenski is a RFA next year, and will likely cost 7-8M per, so the Jets will end up in a salary cap crunch in 12 months.

The Copp and Pionk contracts are probably $2-2.5M light between the two of them. So when you add another scratch to get to 23 players, Jets will need to find and million or two. Not buying out Little or Beaulieu and placing Little on LTIR and Beaulieu in the minors would be much better options.

I’m not a fan of trading Wheeler, but to make this roster work, it’s required.
