Not the right return either, Jackets need legit C who can play Top 6, not C/W players like Roslovic and Domi, who aren't Top Line guys either....
But, I'd suspect Edmonton would take that deal and take Korpi off your hands for minimal loss, would likely even do Elvis for the 1st RD pick next year....

That’s a no from Florida. Maybe a 2021 first and a mid level center prospect. Columbus has no leverage. Laine becomes UFA in 2 yrs and isn’t resigning with them. The more time goes by the less return they will get.

No way Edmonton makes this deal. I wouldn't claim Korpisalo off of waivers let alone give a 2nd and B prospect for him. In his last 4 seasons, he's broken 0.900 sv% once and that was playing behind a good defensive structure. Other than his one insane playoff run, his stats are worse than Koskinen. The Oilers need a goalie that can push for the starter spot, not a backup.

The Oilers need a guy to provide reliably good performances for 55 to 60 games, regardless of whether Koskinen or Smith are the back-up. Korpisalo looks more like a 1B, and although he should easily be better than what the Oilers have now, he may not be exactly what they need. Still, I think there is a deal to be made. Maybe Koskinen for Korpi, with conditions, before the expansion draft. If Columbus leaves Koskinen exposed, and he is not selected by Seattle, the Oilers will send their 2022 3rd round pick to Columbus.
