I think that there are teams out there who would pay big time to get Jones, COL is not one of those teams as they can't keep him long term.

Also if you are CBJ you should avoid talking to COL as Sakic will find a way to get him for like Compher, Graves and a 3rd.

Any deal in which Col massively loses a trade for a short term asset isn't realistic

they have to pay makar and landeskog and grubauer. adding 5.4 million means either landeskog or grubauer are gone

I definitely don't think he's Karlsson. Not even close. But out of all the teams interested in the article, I think Colorado makes the most sense. Even if it's short term. You guys/They are close to winning one but i think a guy like Jones for a full year could really help.

They will have a rough $20M left over if they traded for Jones. IMO i think they could make it work.

You will always get a better return from teams that can 1) sign him long term, and 2) are dumb. There are a good amount of both of those teams.

Not only is he only a rental for Col, but a team with a strong understanding of analytics isn't going to view him in the same stratosphere as an old hockey man.
