Description
When I originally began this Armchair GM, I made some small moves and intended for Arizona to continue to compete for a wildcard spot, but that’s no way to run a hockey team. Arizona is still relatively young, but I did feel the need to trade away some of their players over 25 or so and get some prospects back. The Ekman-Larson trade is fair as he is traded for negative value but Arizona does get something back. Next I dealt Kuemper to make space for Hill and Prosvetov and to replenish the prospect pool. The Kessel deal was inspired by Florida being possibly interested in Laine, as Kessel is a similar player to him. As for the D-core, I chose to promote from in-house instead of going crazy in free agency, calling up Soderstrom and Capobianco though I did still sign Oleksiak and Staal. I was also careful not to spend to much money, as Arizona is already in trouble financially.

I don't care how bad you think OEL's contract is the rebuilding Coyotes aren't giving up 2 2nds to get rid of the contract. Even with him on the books they are 32m under the Cap and 12 mil from the floor, they still have to have contract. Just makes absolutely no sense.

Not a corpse, scored at a 30 goal, 66 point pace last year while mostly centered by Johan Larsson.. your point remains that he isn't fetching that large of a return but he's not a corpse and with only 1 year left he's not a long term investment.

Kuemper is one of the 7 best goalies in the league, if you're EDM adding him might be worth one of your top 3 prospects, I think you could say the same of Pittsburgh. Idk just a thought.

Oilers trade is a steal for the Oilers IMO but the Holloway fan boys (the entire CF community) will disagree

Kessel was spent going all the way back to PIT. If a team wants to let him cherry pick 24/7 then I guess go for it.

Also the 7 best goalies change randomly every year and that dude is coming off an injury. If ARZ could get a prospect like that for him they would have done it yesterday
