On a separate note - what do nucks fans think of Schmidt? Assuming it’s kind of an anchor of a contract even tho he’s a good player. What would you guys expect in a trade for him? What if some type of retention were included?

I would give him one more year alongside a better d partner and if we were to trade him, no retention.

Would be a bad time to sell tbh because he had a bad year but I personally think he’s worth everything he’s being paid when he’s playing well. Transports the puck, can make a good first pass, great shot. He’s decent in the d zone and relatively physical but they’ll never get good value for him right now. Canucks need a big young RD or cheapish middle 6er

a 3rd line player, 3rd pairing dman with one good year and a sweetener to a player we dont have to do and Seattle doesnt want
