Description

Why Vancouver does this trade: vcr really needs scoring help and to get bigger on the back end.
Why tampa bay does this trade: save 3.5m in cap and able to protect most of its stanley cup roster because rathbone is exempt. Motte i value somewhere around a low first to a high second, He's also a hell of a player. Tampa bay also gain the ability to force seattles hand in picking mcdonagh or Johnston . this leaves 4 million dollars to sign 3 players.

as i mentioned in the vancouver thread, you are underestimating the value of trading for rathbone. whose better than foote and protected! that means you wont lose killorn for free to seattle. because tbl lose either killorn or foote for free. at least this way you get back value. motte is worth a high second or low 1st . remember tbl has to shed cap and when you need to shed cap you have to pay. the way i see it you either lose foote for free and still have to trade killorn away. would you trade killorn for motte and rathbone probably right? because thier cap hit is a combined 2.1m
