Why dump Mikheyev? He's a cheaper and more useful version of Gusev

Ummmmm... no he isn't. Mikheyev is an overpaid PK'er.

Sorry have you actually watched him play? He uses his speed very well and has many good chances to score, just needs to work on his finishing

I have watched every single game that he has played in. No amount of work will make him an effective scorer in the NHL. He makes terrible shooting decisions and has hands of stone for things like simple tap ins.

He makes too much money to be a penalty killer with long arms.

Mikheyev came that close to getting the winner with seconds left pic.twitter.com/HBTdo98Hng

One example of him not finishing is not evidence for saying he is a lousy player... The fact that he generates the chances strongly suggests he is a valuable player

Not even close to accurate. He is a replacement level player in production and he makes 1.6 million dollars doing what a lot of guys could do for a league minimum.

100% trade bait. The Leafs would be foolish to keep him. Engvall too.

Well it is your team, so if you think that's the best route then okay. As someone who watches around 90% of Leafs games but isn't a primary Leafs fan, I simply provide my perspective. Is it right? Probably not but its how I see the topic
