Pretty sure EDM would want someone who has proven themselves capable in the playoffs. You don't want a big fall off from Talbot if he got hurt.

Jusse is the future of Nashville. he's already better than Rinne but it's still his team. He's in the ahl because there's no point of him playing back up minutes. They're not going to give him up for nothing

That is a ridiculous statement. If the Predators front office thought he was a better goalie I am pretty sure he would be in there.

It's not ridiculous. It's usually better for a young goalies development to get time starting in the ahl then to backup in the NHL.

If he was actually better than Rimne then he would be starting. He may end up better but is not right now. Teams in a playoff race are going to play their best players. Unless you are fk stick Hakstol for the Flyers.

It's a loyalty thing. Pekka has been the best goalie the franchise has ever had (better than vokun). They're going to lean on the veteran because mentally jusse isn't mature enough in his game to handle a potential playoff race. He has the more skill yes, but he's not ready to take over the reigns. Don't be surprised when pekka falters after this season they decide to go to a 60/40 split with rinne grooming the kid to take over but still playing more games as next season he will be 35 and playing like it.
