Dallas 2022

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 5, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Dallas does not really have much to do this offseason. They don't have many free agents, but most of their budget is spent on re-signing Heiskanen. Sure, they have some cap space, but they really should save it for next year when they need to give big money to Robertson, Gurianov, Oettinger and Klingberg. To proactively clear cap, I dumped Faksa as his term and salary are not ideal. Sadly, Dallas will liekly lose Khudobin in the XD, but with Oettinger knocking at the door, it's not a huge deal. Finally, I spent a bit to bring in Perrault, a physical power forward who will help out a young Dalllas bottom six.

Why are you treating Faksa like a cap dump?

OK I was a little confused for a second, I thought maybe Laaksonen took a big step forward I missed, when in reality Faksa has taken a step backwards and is now a cap dump

Because that's a lot of money for a while and though I don't watch Dallas, for his offensive numbers, it doesn't seem like it makes sense.

Yeah when I do cap dumps, I always like to have an interesting young player coming the other way that way the team that dumps can still get something out of it.

He plays hard minutes against the other teams top lines. He gets buried in defensive responsibility. While playing with anchors like Cogs and Comeau. His paycheck is high for his offensive numbers, but he is not a cap dump

So has anything happen to Faska his stats have taken a beating the last two years, he was never an offensive powerhouse but it's worse and his defense use to be pretty good but that got a lot worse. Injury or just has lost the love of the game?
