Cant imagine Seattle taking Allard or MTL trading away Chariot

I like the Tampa move, happy with Killorn or Palat and I think Cousins is the perfect cheap option for the bottom of their forward group

I think you misread part of it -- in this scenario, Jarnkrok gets picked up by SEA (not Allard) and Allard gets traded along with a pick to MTL for Chiarot. I've seen quite a few Chiarot trades recently on here, so I thought I'd take a stab at it. Not sure it's enough, but he could also be selected by SEA so maybe they move him for less because of that? He just seems like a guy Hynes would like -- experienced and has size. I wouldn't go crazy in trying to acquire him though.

I agree on Cousins -- if NSH wanted to retain on his contract, I think they could get a decent return from a team like TBL or TOR too.

The description reads "MTL trade - instead of losing him to SEA"

Which sounds like you are trading away Allard so he will not be selected in expansion

Those are meant to be from MTL's and TBL's perspective -- but I can see where you could get confused.

Hey @villenash in addition to Allard, who among the other RD (Ellis, Fabbro, Carrier, Benning) is available and what would be cost?

I read somewhere that Poile said he wasn’t going to move and defenseman, but now I can’t find it —- so maybe I was dreaming…

I think trading Ellis makes some sense, but that might be a tough one for Poile to let go. I can’t really see him trading Fabbro, but he definitely lost favor with Hynes last year so who know — probably would need to be an overpay. Benning is really just a depth guy, so he could be moved. Carrier and his great contract aren’t going anywhere — he played fantastic down the stretch and playoffs.

Benning — 4th/5th kinda deal, depending on interst
Fabbro — top 6 potential forward + 2nd maybe
Ellis — 1st, top 6 potential forward, b prospect — or something like a Konecny swap
Carrier — he doesn’t have crazy value, but it just doesn’t make sense to trade him. He wouldn’t get more than a 3rd though and more likely a 4th. He has more value to NSH than the market probably.

What is the ask for Ellis?
Assuming an exempt player, NHL player, and high pick? With no salary returned or retained?

I edited in some trade value to the last post — you’re too quick!

I’ve seen a lot of PHI deals that make sense from a NSH perspective.

Frost + 1st + Myers or d prospect
Konecny (not sure what else on either side)

Poile has never retained, so it would have to be a good deal for him to consider that. And for the term, I couldn’t see him retaining more than $750k if any.

I don't think Devils would want any $ retained on any deals.
Fabbro makes the most sense for NJD, I think. Something like...

1. Fabbro for Kuokkanen
2. Fabbro for Boqvist + pick (if an expansion exempt player is preferred)
3. Fabbro for McCarthy + pick

For Ellis, maybe one of those above packages along with other piece

I don’t see these deals beating the proposed PHI deals I’ve seen.

Ellis would likely get a 1st, and I doubt NJD has interest in trading a 1st any time soon — so maybe he’s not the best fit unless the prospects in the deal are better.

For Fabbro, I think the deals are a bit light — but he hasn’t been stellar either in his career so far. I think he’ll get one more year before they decide what to do with him if this is all they can get. He’s still so young and NSH doesn’t have much youth on the blue line.
