In any other circumstance I’d agree with you. Considering teams are aware we likely won’t/can’t protect him, whoever ends up trading for him won’t have to send back equal value for that reason. It’s either the Wild trade him for less than he’s worth or the Wild lose him to Seattle and then Seattle likely will send him off somewhere for what he’s worth. It’s a sucky situation but its the truth. I’d agree we could probably keep the 2nd round pick though, I’m just trying to make objectively fair deals.

I feel like it come down to. Wild get a first and Boqvist for a 2nd and whoever they’d lose if they trade dumba in the expansion draft or they just lose dumba to Seattle.

Or very likely wild lose soucy, & not dumba

It's just assumptions by fans here wild lose dumba or greenway. All the hints wild beat writer has been giving has been soucy, not dumba.

There's been zero hints given wild are going to lose dumba

As a Wild fan, I’d rather get rid of Dumba and bring in a promising 22 year old Center/Winger and a 1st round pick. The Wild are pretty set for the future defensively with Spurgeon and Brodin locked up long term and guys like Menell and Addison coming in. Don’t forget Suter will still be here for a few more years and by that time guys Like Ryan Orourke and future draft picks will be taking starting spots. It would be wise of Billy G to get 6-7 milllion off the books while bringing in a potential top 6 contributor like Boqvist and a 1st round pick.

Agree with you. Just saying the current value here doesn't add up

I actually don't mind this trade at all, and would be down for clearing Dumba's cap and bringing in a young center. That said, I think personally I'd prefer Dumba for Zacha 1-1, if possible. Bigger, better goal scorer, much better on draws. If NJ says no, then I'd definitely entertain this.

I’d love to have Zacha as well, I just don’t know if they would be willing to let go of him. I’m pretty sure Zacha has been playing at wing but I’m sure he would be able to make the switch back to center. Like you said, if they don’t like that deal I’d be all in for Boqvist and a 1st. I also like the idea of a trade to Philly for Morgan Frost and a 1st. Essentially the same deal with different players.
