A healthy EJ is better than McCabe, an unhealthy EJ is LTIR and cap relief, why in the world essentially pay Seattle 2 1st rd picks to take him?

It's all about cap management so they can afford Saad and filling in bottom 6 with cup experience bc the current vets, namely Compher aren't cutting it.

I'd say the only way this happens is if he doesn't waive, and they don't get the return they want for Graves

Right now outside of LOC he is significantly better than Bowers and Ranta. Kaut is puzzling because he has traits you are really looking for. He has good size, good skating, very smart with and without the puck, and will play in the dirty areas. What has impressed me the most is his ability to play with top 6 talent. But regardless he isn’t a throw away to dump cap that is massive overkill and poor asset management.
