Fans who primarily watch bad teams overrate average players because they stand out in comparison to the AHL level players next to them and they don't get the same usage which also skews opinions. On top of this bad teams have their players and prospects overhyped the most as teams that can't sell tickets based on wins need to do so off of hope.
