Would think any Monahan deal would have to start with at least one 1st then add.

Massive overpay to Vancouver so you can add that to the list of bad trades for Calgary.

Sabres reject, Arizona adds a better pick as a starting point.

This is closer. You removed Formenton, but swapped in a much better 2nd round pick.

If you want better than this return, you need to keep Monahan until he shows he is worth better than this, again. You're definitely selling low on Monahan, but you can't expect other teams to pay high when he's low.
