I thought that it's way too much, this isn't NHL21. The Oilers need Nurse, Holloway is their top prospect plus a 1st! No thanks.

Nurse is as close to untouchable as it comes. He played like a top 5 dman last year and Edmonton’s defence would completely collapse without him, which is why he’ll be resigned long term. Hopefully this offseason.

Marner on the other hand is overpaid, and with the current cap situation in the league, overpaid players are not worth nearly what they should. Plus he has a history of underwhelming playoff performance. If you want to trade him (plz not to Edmonton) , you either retain salary or be underwhelmed at the return.

why is everyone ignoring Hamilton signing a 1 year deal two mil less his worth

Not only that but 3-4 mil less than someone will offer.
Dermott resigning just to get traded for a 4th. As well as Taylor Hall taking a discount too.
This is a lot of wishful thinking.

Nurse is an expiring ufa that th leafs would not be able to re sign. The first and Holloway don’t really do much for them either. Might not be a smart move for Edmonton either.
