Description
Cap is tight going forward, but the expiring contracts and hope to finally see a jump in the cap and it should be manageable. Plus if the core doesn’t at least make a serious run this year you would have to assume that someone is on their way out.

4th line looks a little week, but Pirri could bring sneaky depth in a platoon with Anderson. Brooks showed he is NHL ready and can hold his own in a 4th line role, and Simmonds is What he is. Definitely don’t think it’s as much of a liability as everyone will assume.

It is hard to value FA contracts this year with the flat cap. Best guess is to go off of last years contracts for comparables. However with that said I can see a narrative that sees some of the upper middle of the pack FAs taking one year deals in hopes of having good years and cashing in with a cap jump.

Seth Jones isn't signing no long term extension with Toronto, Elliotte Friedman already said that Seth Jones wont sign long term with Any Canadian team. it's doubtful he'd even waive for Toronto. From what's been reported he'll only sign long term with Colorado or Dallas his 2 Hometown's

Hey if that’s the case more power to him. Then you just don’t bring back Foligno and sign Hamilton instead. Works out almost the same in the grand scheme. While Inwould rather have the type of game Jones Brings Hamilton would be fine as well. Or make a lesser deal for Josh Manson and see how that one year goes. This was more to see how it might look long term with a big cap hit on the back end

Dougie Hamilton makes far more sense then Seth jones, As Dougie Hamilton is from the area. And both can probably be had for 8x8 and Hamilton is a free asset unlike Jones.
